The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 includes a requirement to have a strategy to evacuate all the occupants within a building. The fire service cannot be relied upon to assist with evacuation.

During the Course
- We advise Fire Wardens of their duties and responsibilities.
- We advise on what action to be taken in event of fire.
- We advise on the correct action to be taken on hearing fire alarm.
- We provide instruction on the operation of the fire alarm system.
- We instruct on the location of the fire alarm call points.
- We provide instruction on the correct method of calling the fire brigade.

- We advise on the location and provide instruction in the operation and use of portable fire extinguishers.
- We familiarise the staff with all the available means of escape routes.
- We provide instruction on the location, purpose and identification of fire-resisting doors.
- We provide instruction on the location, purpose and identification of the Emergency Escape Lighting.
- We provide instruction on the evacuation procedures to be adopted in event of fire or other emergency.
- We remind staff of and discuss the location of, and behaviour at, assembly points.
- We provide video presentations to reiterate the points discussed during the sessions and answer questions and give advice.
- Following the courses, we request feedback from attendees to ensure that we provide a consistently high level of service.
- We award attendees with personal named certificates.
